Employee Equality
At MeCO, we are dedicated to fostering equality within our workplace.
Our focus at MeCO is centered around establishing an inclusive working environment where every individual, irrespective of their race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender, feels valued and included. In recent years, the construction industry has undergone a positive transformation, acknowledging the crucial role that Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) play in both the workplace and broader society. While the construction sector remains predominantly male-dominated on a global scale, there is a growing emphasis on enhancing inclusion and diversity by numerous employers and industry bodies.
In accordance with the UK Equality Act 2010, which identifies nine protected characteristics, namely age, disability, gender, gender identity, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and philosophical beliefs, sexual orientation, and marriage and civil partnerships, we recognize the importance of addressing the lack of diversity in the employee makeup of the construction industry. Key areas of concern in recent years revolve around enhancing EDI for women, Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) individuals, and those with disabilities.
